T-shirt quilts made simple.
T-Shirt Tiles is a revolutionary pattern system to make quilts from clothing. The patterns utilize multiple blocks, called Tiles. Mix and match the Tiles to incorporate both large and small clothing items into your quilt. ā
step 1: Determine size
1
MEASURE
Sort through your clothing to find the widest image in your stack of shirts. Place that t-shirt on a flat surface, smoothing out the image as best as possible, and measure the width of that image.
2
ADD 2 Inches
Add 2 inches to the measurement
from Step 1.
ā
Example:
If your image measured 10 inches wide, add 2 inches for a total of 12 inches.
3
pick PATTERN
Select a pattern name that matches or is larger than your total from Step 2.
Example:
Image = 10 inches (Step 1)
Add 2 inches = 12 inches (Step 2)
Pattern Name = TWELVES
The pattern name = width of finished block.

SIXES = 6" Block width
EIGHTS = 8" Block width
TENS = 10" Block width
